There are a lot of differing views on this out there, but mine fits closely with the one below, it brings up some good points .....(but it is a plane not a helicopter in the video!)
I think Bono's mistake in all this boils down to that he should have just stayed being the activist, getting the world leaders to implement and stick to actions that benefit Africa - he's really good at that. But he chose to also set up various organisations - in good faith I'm sure - but that's where there have been difficulties. There have been problems with Edun, One and Red and, even if it's nothing at all directly to do with him, those problems rub off on him and his ability to be taken seriously and make a difference. This article looks at some of the reasons things might have not gone so well.
It would be a shame if this eclipsed all the positive things he has already done.

The Lazarus Effect
RED announced a new multi-media campaign that will include a new film directed by Lance Bangs and executive produced by Spike Jonze. The documentary is called “The Lazarus Effect” and borrows its name from the remarkable transformation of people infected with HIV/AIDS when given access to antiretroviral medicine. It will premiere on May 24th on HBO at 9pmET/8c, YouTube and Channel 4 in the UK.
On 4th May there was an event at the Museum of Modern Art in New York to promote "The Lazarus Effect" amongst the many well known people to attend were Bono, Ali and Adam. It's amazing how One and RED have grown, and are really making a difference and it's all thanks to the B-man for starting it all off! I really admire him for all the work and time he puts into his humanitarian work.
Lovely photo below taken at the event. Adam looking better as he grows older (and I think must have been bending at the knee or Bono and Ali were standing on boxes!), Ali as beautiful as ever and I like Bono's hair.

Bono At Leopardstown Races
Bono and Ali were at the Leopardstown Races as usual on St Stephen's Day and the Irish Indpendent got a short interview with him and Paul McGuinness. Both talk a little about future plans. "We are working away and we have a couple of yearlings in the stables that could really turn out to be thoroughbreds in the future," said Bono. Though McGuinness was "diplomatic" in what he said, "I have heard some of the stuff the guys have played and, yeah, it is great. Bono is always an optimist but he seems confident of getting a new record out by the end of the next six months. They're talking about June. By that time we will be ready to go back on tour and I think that will give it a different flavour."
Mc Guinness also talks a little about Adam and the court case he has had to take out against his former housekeeper who has allegedly stolen a large amount of money from him. Read the full article here .

Rock Star on Holiday
Bono has been with his family on holiday in the South of France. But he's crossed the border to Italy now and these lovely photos were taken in beautiful Portofino in Italy. It must be really weird having photogrpahers following you when your on your hols, but I supposed they are well used to that by now.

I Was Right!

Bono has re-appearred once more, and I was right, he has surfaced back home in Dublin. He and the other members of U2 were back at the studio late last week to continue work on the new album. Mind you, he's already moved to another country. He surfaced in England, where he and Ali attended the Raisa Gorbachev Foundation Gala dinner in Hampton yesterday. Ali was as looking beautiful as ever in a gorgeous dress - her partner looks ok too!
I'm hoping that Bono soon goes back home and work as my friend and I are off on a short trip to Dublin next week and will be paying a vist to the studio!

See What I Have to Put Up With?
Found this photo on the Internet, (sorry don't know who took it so can't credit them) and just burst out laughing - the expression on Ali's face says it all!
