Bono at the TED Conference

After watching Comic Relief I thought I'd put up Bono's talk at the TED Conference in America. He gets a lot of stick for his campaigning and his motives are much mis-understood. But he is driven to help eradicate extreme poverty, he has seen the heartbreaking things that were shown on Comic Relief first hand.  He knows his stuff inside out, he is not just a figurehead for a cause. His speech is eloquent, funny, informative and very encouraging on progress so far.  It's well worth watching.

I watched this the other day and love the way he takes the micky out of himself. I really don't understand people who call him for doing this sort of work. At least he is trying to make a difference. Even if you are not a U2 fan you should admire his relentless campaigning and the fact that he really does know what he is talking about. Surely using his celebrity status for the good is to be commended - rather than being a celebrity for the sake of it as so many are these days, (talentless ones too)!

  2. I agree with everything you wrote Sara. I'm proud of what Bono has done, he really is making a difference and it can't be easy for him - especially when he constantly gets panned for it!

  3. Wow! I'm so impressed by his knowledge and eloquence. Makes me proud to be a u2 fan. People should see this side of Bono and maybe they would stop calling him. Well done Bono, and the fact you didnt use autocue is amazing!. Other celebrities couldn't speak like that.
