Slade, Carols and Races With Bono

Bono was out and about at his usual places in Dublin this Christmas time.  First he appeared at the Grafton Street Christmas Eve busk in aid of the homelessness charity The Simon Community with Glen Hansard and others. They sang Slade's Festive Season stalwart, Merry Christmas Everybody and the carol Oh Come All Ye Faithful.  It's a wonderful tradition, but it must be a logistic nightmare to get Bono in and out through the crowds. Let's hope they can continue it in the future, there always seems to be a great atmosphere.



And today, St Stephen's Day in Ireland, Bono and Ali were at the races at Leopardstown as per usual, below is a rather nice interview with the man himself.

A Birthday, a Telephone and a Circus.....

Bono and Ali's youngest daughter, budding actress Eve Hewson, celebrated her 21st birthday in style in Las Vegas at the weekend. Eve's parents were at the party and a recording of Bono and Ali singing the Gaga/Beyonce song Telephone was played for Eve, would love to hear that lol! I'm sure it would have been tongue in cheek with new lyrics appropriate to the celebration.


Next day Bono went to the Mirage to see the Cirque du Soleil performance Love, which is based on the music of the Beatles.  Now back to song writing and recording please Bono! ;)

Bono Pouring Champagne for the Photographers

Bono, Ali and their daughters went on their annual St Stephen's day out at the Leopardstown races yesterday. Bono was in a generous mood and handed out champagne to the waiting photographers.  Story and more photos here. Bono's daughters have grown into beautiful young women, but there is a big error in the article, the journalists have got Jordan and Eve mixed up in the photo captions. (PS they have now corrected the errors).

The 27 Club

Bono's daughter Eve Hewson has a part in The 27 Club, an American movie premiered at the Tribeca Festival in New york on 26th April 2008.

A rock star's best friend dies at the age of 27. He hires a grocery store clerk to drive him across America to the funeral. The 27 Club is a beautiful road movie about friendship and healing. Eve plays Stella, an Irish hitch-hiker who they pick up on their journey.

Eve was accompanied to the premiere by her mother and sister Jordan. I'm sure her dad was very proud of her, but really there was no way he could have been there as the spotlight would have fallen on him and not Eve. The price of fame! But I'm pretty sure there will have been a private party somewhere for family and friends where father and daughter could celebrate together.
